ARSL Statement Regarding the U.S. National ElectionsAs the plans begin to unfold following the recent United States elections, the Association for Rural & Small Libraries (ARSL) remains committed to our mission to build strong communities through advocacy, professional development, and elevating the impact of rural and small libraries. ARSL is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that affirms the responsibility of libraries to provide the communities they serve with a wide array of access to information. ARSL supports an individual’s right to read, think, and speak freely, as protected by the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. For more than 40 years, ARSL has supported all small and rural libraries, library workers, and advocates, regardless of partisan politics. We remain committed to the important work we do with our members, organizational partners, and national community to advocate for libraries and demonstrate their essential importance to this nation. |
